TCIF targets its funding to organizations through target areas. Target areas are identified through a combination of: (a) internal review via an advisory board, comprised of thought leaders in Muslim-American communities and organizations, and/or individuals in leadership positions in local, regional, and national public- or private-sector organizations representing or supporting Muslim-American interests; and (b) conducting listening sessions with Muslim-American communities and stakeholders regionally or nationally across the United States to identify potential target areas.
Target areas are periodically reviewed and revised to reflect issues in the Muslim-American community that are relevant, timely, and can be addressed effectively by the organization.
