Thank you for your interest in joining the Board of Directors of The Community Impact Fund (TCIF). We are truly honored by your interest and excited to learn more about you.

What is TCIF?

TCIF is a national charitable, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to making a measurable difference in the Muslim-American and larger communities by supporting organizations and programs in the U.S., including in underserved areas, through grants and other resources. We believe that we have a radical approach to grant-making that you can read about here. We also have a unique approach to identifying areas we want to fund.

As a board member, you will bring your passion, dedication, creativity, skills, and track record (short or a long one; quality/impact > quantity), and work closely with your fellow board members to identify target areas to fund; review and approve grantees; engage in knowledge-sharing opportunities including workshops and conferences; and, as needed, serve as the public face for TCIF.

Additionally, you can expect to:

  • Allocate 2-4 hours per month for board activities, including board meeting attendance (call-in or web-based), and board retreats (virtual for 2020-2021);
  • Chair subcommittee and/or lead key board task(s);
  • Actively participate in donor engagement and events, and support fundraising campaigns; and
  • Commit to serving a minimum 2-year term (July 2020 to July 2022).
